Parth's Progress 2004

We have been seeing Parth for the last 2 years which involved 2 visits to this country. As a keen cricketer and a big fan of Sachin Tendulkar, he spends a lot of his time playing sports and is particularly handy with the cricket bat. The impact of this is that he puts a lot more force through his prosthesis and needs a lot more from it. To help with this we changed his prosthetic foot, about a year ago, to something that would put a bit more spring in his step!

He has definitely grown a lot in the past 2 years as we have had to lengthen his prosthesis by almost 4 inches, give him a larger size foot each visit and upgrade the strength of the limb!

Despite all that he has been through it is fantastic to see how positive, cheerful and fun-filled Parth is. We have never seen him without a smile on his face and he is always keen to make the most of his opportunities. His English is better each time we meet and he is clearly pleased to express his gratitude when we provide him with prosthetic care.

Parth remains to be a bit of a local celebrity as there is always media interest when he's around. The fitting room often gets rather crowded with reporters, TV cameras and light crews cramming in to find out how he is getting on. Rather than be phased by the prospect of the cameras, Parth is all too willing to talk to the camera and show off his running and cricketing skills.
