Parth's Progress 2001

Parth has made excellent progress since losing a leg in the devastating earthquake in Gujurat. Following an appeal by the charity RAPID UK, Ortho Europe is proud to be donating prosthetic support throughout Parth's adolescent years. Parth visited our Abingdon, UK facility last year and was successfully fitted with a new limb, allowing him to walk unaided for the first time since the earthquake.

Since then Parth has become very mobile. His new limb is coping well with the rigors of the Indian environment and allowing him to get out and about much like any 12-year old boy. Graham Payne, Director of RAPID UK has been receiving regular updates from Parth's father and comments: "Thanks to the long-term generosity of Ortho Europe, Parth Joshi is receiving the very best treatment possible for his disability and now faces a far better future in India. We understand his progress over the past twelve months has been remarkable and he is now playing his much loved game of cricket. This would not have been possible but for the help and assistance of Ortho Europe. We are all looking forward to meeting him again and to see how he has grown in a year."

Ortho Europe will continue to support Parth's ongoing rehabilitation. We are pleased to welcome Parth and his father Pradip back to Abingdon later this month.
